About Us
Sadira performs the traditional and contemporary dances of the the Middle East. Recognizing the importance of art as a cultural bridge,Sadira promotes Arab culture through teaching and presentations for schools,libraries and the University of Wisconsin.
Sadira has performed in Cairo, Egypt and throughout the U.S. and travels frequently to Egypt, Morocco and Jordan to study dance, taking intesive classes with Egypt's Mahmoud Reda and Nadia Hamdi and in Amman, Jordan with the Palestinian folklore troupe,Jafra.
Sadira directs the Riad Dance Company and produces the Madison Middle Eastern Festival, featuring world renowned Arab musicians and dancers.
The Riad Dance Company was established in 1984 and specializes in the traditional dance of the Middle East. The group performs at ethnic and cultural events and does educational dance and music performances for schools and libraries.
