About Us

SCRABBLE? Club 247 is an affiliate of the old National Scrabble Association (NSA). We have been playing as a sanctioned club since 1984.

Two dozen plus "wordsmiths" play at the club more or less regularly. No matter the weather, players are on hand each Wednesday for the 6:00 start. The club players are all enthusiastic about sharing their interest in quality SCRABBLE. They enjoy the game and are attracted to the levels of competition and good camaraderie found there.

While the club offers the challenge of playing with other skilled players, it still embraces quite a range of word game abilities.

The club is organized into two levels, one composed of expert players who average from 370 to 450 points a game, a second level(Intermediate) with players who average less than 350 a game.

A club member played on the select 10-person US Scrabble team in 2004, 2005 and 2007 and 2008 in World competitions in Asia and England and the United States.
