Highlights from this year's schedule include the Mad City Model Railroad Show and Sale on February 15-16, 2003 at the Alliant Energy Center that is expanded to 70,000 sq ft of floor space.
SCWD stands for "South Central Wisconsin Division". We are part of the Midwest Region of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA).
The NMRA is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the hobby of model railroading.
SCWD activities and events are centered in the Madison, Wisconsin, area. We meet on a monthly basis, September through May, at the Fitchburg Community Center.
Meets are usually the first Sunday of the month and are from 1pm - 4pm. We have model and photo contests, and excellent clinics at each meeting, and normally one or more area layouts are open to view after the meet. Meets are open to the public, there is no admission charge and all are welcome to attend.
We also have an annual Picnic in July, hold a Swap Meet in October, a public Rail School in January, a large Rail Show and Sale in February, and a spring banquet for members and their families.
