What is HUNGER?

Hunger is an uneasy or painful feeling that comes from involuntary lack of food. Hungry people are all ages, races and religions, sizes and shapes; they may even be over weight.

What they have in common is a diet that lacks the nutrients – even though they sometimes consume enough calories – required to sustain a healthy life. When it continues over time, they are at risk of malnutrition (which is defined as consuming too little or too much of an essential nutrient).
