Sertoma Bowl-a-thon Raises $4000 Plus

Bowlers of all ages enjoy Bowl-a-thon

April 5, 2008, Sertoma members of the Madison club bowled their best games to help raise $4645 in donations for HospiceCare and Sertoma sponsorships. The annual bowl-a-thon is in honor of Vern Hellenbrand, a former Sertoman and CEO of Research Products Corp.; Vern died in 2002 from esophageal cancer. Many of Vern's family members and friends joined Madison Sertomans in the bowling event. Pizza, snacks and soda were provided free to all bowlers.
Many thanks to Sertoman Mike Victorson of Mortenson, Matzelle and Meldrum, and Sertoman Marlene Sommers, who coordinated the many details of this event. Thanks also to Sertomans Dave Scher (American Family), Monica Schlicht (M&I Bank), Ed Kunz (Wells Fargo Mortgage), and Paul Perkins (Group Health Cooperative) for providing corporate giveaways for raffle prizes.
