Doug is the author of several books, including one about the late Mike Royko, the famed Chicago newspaper columnist , and another about the once famed University of Wisconsin boxing program and its tragic ending, titled "Lords of the Ring." His most current book, "Surrounded by Reality," is a compilation of his most popular columns that have appeared in The Capital Times.
