We currently have 3 locations plus Service Extensions in outlying communities. At our East Washington location: gatekeeper for homeless, provide shelter for homeless families, single women and warming shelter during the winter months (mats on hallway floor). Services include: food, counseling, clothing, medical, transportation, activities for children, parenting classes etc. Our Family Stabilization program provides counseling to families after they leave shelter. Holly House: housing for homeless single women in transition. Darbo location: neighborhood center, food pantry, after school programs such as mentoring, tutoring, computer lab, kids caf©, recreation, and during the summer day camp, fishing on Fridays, trips etc. Other programs: Emergency Services Canteen which assists in times of disaster, hydration at local parades, food to volunteers doing community projects, assistance to emergency personnel. Service Extension located in communities throughout Dane county is operated by local leaders to keep people from becoming homeless. Volunteer services we use thousand of volunteers each year to assist us with our programs. Ruth Ann, Major Moore or other appropriate staff/volunteers can present on a variety of topics. From "Bet you didn't know" to volunteers experiences and people who we have helped. We can also provide speakers who will give testimonials on how they have been helped by the Salvation Army. Playing to the Strengths of Today's Youths: A great presentation for anyone who works with, volunteers with or parent's youths. All presentations are interactive and can be presented in 15-60 minutes depending on your groups needs.
