Terry Walsh, Executive Director of Safe Place for Newborns of Wisconsin, Inc., Phone: (608) 225-5544. Email: safeplacefornewborns@hotmail.com Website: www.safeplacefornewbornsWI.com

Safe Place for Newborns exists to save newborns in danger of abandonment and to help preserve the health and futures of their mothers. We raise awareness about Wisconsin's Act 2 "safe haven" law, passed in April 2001, that allows a parent to legally leave her unharmed newborn, up to three days old, at a hospital without prosecution.

The presentation covers who would abandon a newborn, how often this has occurred in Wisconsin and what citizens did to protect our most vulnerable members.

Use of a VCR/DVD player to show 30-second PSA and/or presentation on PowerPoint are options. Samples of community awareness posters, brochures made available.
