The Empty Stocking Club, a Wisconsin State Journal charity for children since 1918, exists to assure that every child in our area, no matter how needy, will have at least one new Christmas gift.

Its work is made possible because of the generosity of State Journal readers.

Families that participate in the toy program are screened by social service agencies, schools and other organizations to prevent duplication.

The toys, themselves, are purchased with your donations. Target Stores gives the Empty Stocking Club a discount and provides delivery services to make your contributions go farther. Many Target employees join State Journal staff members and their families and volunteers from a number of local service clubs and civic groups to make the toy distribution go smoothly and efficiently.
