Most of all, let love guide your life.
Col. 3:14
In today's world, what does ministry mean?
It means to be a spiritual presence and to lend our support to people who feel isolated or discouraged. In today's fast paced world it means to meet people where they are and to accompany them on their path to self-empowerment. Here at Triangle Community Ministry we do just that.
The Triangle neighborhood , the distinct area bound by Park Street, Regent Street and West Washington Avenue, is a community rich in diversity and energy. In the 1960s urban renewal replaced the houses, stores and churches in this area, formerly known as the Greenbush neighborhood, to make way for public housing. Today the Triangle is home to more than 1000 residents living in various settings.
Triangle Community Ministry (TCM) joined this development in the late 1970s to fill the void of spiritual presence and social support. In addition to low income many people living in the Triangle face life challenges, such as physical or mental disability, addiction and recovery or aging related concerns. People in these cirumstances often feel and are left behind by the larger society. Our approach is holistic, person-centered, and focuses on the self-empowerment and integration of the people we serve.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. You have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
