About Us

Even Start Family Literacy Partnership was founded in 1996 to serve the literacy and English language needs of economically and educationally impoverished families living in the Allied Drive area. In recent years, it has expanded to serve families across Verona and Madison. We currently serve 36 adults and 63 children, ages 4 months to 13 years old. The families have demonstrated a strong commitment to improve the educational and employment prospects of themselves and their children by working with us. The program was founded on the belief that children's language and learning are greatly improved by their parent's involvement as first educators. Based on this belief the program strives to make the parents excellent first teachers through instruction, modeling, coaching, and mentoring.
