Youth Services of Southern Wisconsin

Volunteer Counselor
Qualifications:
- ability to commit to volunteering for one year
- ability to complete our training
- must be 14 or older
Duties:
YSOSW Briarpatch's crisis intervention services are staffed and handled by our volunteer help-line counselors who are trained in basic family counseling. Briarpatch also trains volunteers about issues ranging from domestic abuse and runaways, to drug abuse and adolescent development. Help-line volunteers offer support and provide referrals to teens and parents who call to talk about their problems, frustrations, or other crises.
Work Hours:
Hours per week: 4 hours for teens, 6-8 for adults
