THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF MADISON

The Woman's Club was founded in 1893. Even in the early formative years it was an effective force in the Madison Community.

Many services and civic groups we take for granted today originated through the influence and pressure of the Woman's Club. These projects included: kindergartens, women members of the school board, garbage disposal, better lighting on streets, the construction of Madison General Hospital, etc.

The Madison Magazine in 2000 recognized the club for the many contributions to the community.
