Our Service Project for 2009-2010

We are very excited to announce that the Service Project for 2009-2010 is:

Occupaws

Occupaws is a Madison-based non-profit charitable organization, founded by Nicole Meadowcroft. Its mission is to raise, train and place highly skilled guide dogs with a Wisconsin resident who has a visual impairment.

OccuPaws recently developed and launched a unique program called Children's Visual Companion Dogs. This program matches visually impaired youth with specially selected dogs. These dogs help build bridges to independence for blind children by giving them confidence, stability and increased self-esteem.

Who's New will support this organization by: Providing gas cards for trainers and volunteers and monetary support. We will also collect donations for dog food, toys, treats, beds, and sponsor a puppy in training.

Service Project Chair is: Susan Easterday
