About Us
The After School Program is a State Licensed and City Accredited Day Care for youth ages 5-12. A Parent Advisory Board allows for increased parental input to the program. Structured activities and a well balanced meal are provided each day.
The Clothing & Produceon the table and shelves of the lobby in the Center are donated or delivered by volunteers and are offered to anyone who needs them.
Community Assistance -
The Second Chance program provides opportunities for work experience and personal enhancement to individuals who may not have the background or references to transition into full employment.
Available in the Community Resource Room are binders of information compiled from local agencies, computers, access to the internet and a variety of software, and a library of more than 1,000 books, covering topics such as health, reference, culture, art, and a wide range of fiction.
Facility Use Rentals at Wil-Mar provide low cost meeting space to a variety of community and private groups on a space available basis.
The Food Pantry is open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 pm . The pantry serves the 53703 and 53704 zip codes. People must show identification for themselves and each member of their family, and may use the pantry once every 30 days.
Wil-Mar's Information & Referral Service connects neighborhood residents with appropriate community resources and services, provides quarterly program updates, and publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, The Williamson-Marquette Gazette, in conjunction with Common Wealth Development and the Marquette Neighborhood Association.
A hot, nutritious Free Community Meal is served each Saturday from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. The meal is prepared by 5 volunteer groups: Forest Product Lab Forestette Group, Lake Edge United Church of Christ, St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Downtown Kiwanis Club, and Monona-Madison Kiwanis Club.
Wil-Mar's Senior Nutrition & Recreation Program offers a lunch Monday through Friday at noon. The meals are home-made by Wil-Mar's cook. The seniors play Euchre, '500', and Bingo, and enjoy trips, socializing and speakers.
Students Organized Around Responsibility is a program for middle and high school youth that provides safe, fun recreation and promotes personal and civic responsibility.
The Summer Youth Recreation Program offers a wide range of activities for 5-12 year olds: arts & crafts, games, field trips, swimming lessons, and much more. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are also included.
Wil-Mar works with Common Wealth Development's Youth Business Mentoring Program and Community Adolescent Programs to offer the Teen Employment Program. Neighborhood teens are offered opportunities to gain training, experience and guidance through part-time employment.
