Last Call for our Faith & Justice Awards Dinner in Milwaukee with Rev. Carlton Veazey, the national Pres and CEO of the RCRC on Thursday, November 6. He is the founder of the Black Church Initiative, which has made a concerted effort over the last decade to raise reproductive health issues and introduced sexuality education into over 700 black church community across the country. He will be speaking on "Pro-Choice from an African American Perspective".
We will be honoring St. Senator Judy Robson for her work on the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims bill.
Organizations including the Greater YWCA and Planned Parenthood have been invited to join RCRC's Black Church Initiative and RCRC's Spritiual Youth for Reproductive Freedom (SYRF) in having tables of information on their outreach programs to youth regarding accurate sexuality information.
The dinner will be held at the Libiamo Restaurant, in Schlitz Park [entrance on Cherry St. between 2nd and Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr.Dr]. There will be a 6p.m. reception for Rev. Veazey and Sen. Robson and dinner will be at 7p.m.
