Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice

About Us

The Wisconsin RCRC is an affliate of the national Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Like RCRC nationally, we are an interfaith alliance dedicated to ensuring reproductive freedom. All Coalition programs seek to give clear voice to reproductive health issues of people of color, low income individuals, youth, and others with little or no access to reproductivce health care.

In Wisconsin RCRC programs include the Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom Project, the Clergy for Choice Network, our web site and a statewide e-newsletter.

Currently our Board is made up of United Methodist Clergy, Presbyterian Clergy, Rabbis from both the Reform and Reconstructionist Movements of Judaism, a representative of the Milwaukee Jewish Council, a staff person from the Central Midwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association and a lay leader of the United Church of Christ.

Organizational Memberships - Congregations, committees, conferences, districts presbyteries and other faith related groups may join as Organizational Members. For more information contact Wisconsin RCRC at wi_rcrc@yahoo.com.

Currently the Lisbon United Presbyterian Church, the Milwaukee Jewish Council and the Social Concerns Committee of the Southwest Association of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ are organizational members.

Join - If you would like to support the work of Wisconsin RCRC, you can make an online contribution here. While we are a coalition of pro-choice faith groups, individuals can also join as members. If you join you will receive the Wisconsin RCRC e-newsletter and other electronic communications and be able to participate in Wisconsin RCRC activities. Most importantly, your voice will be heard along with hundreds of others throughout the state! Suggested membership donations are $25.00.

Give - You may also make a special occasion or memorial gift. We will send an appropriate acknowledgement according to your instructions.

The Clergy for Choice Network consists of clergy, seminary students and theologians of all faiths who are dedicated to upholding the worth and dignity of women, by safeguarding their moral right to control their reproductive future. In Wisconsin currently we have over 70 clergy in the network. It involves 37 Wisconsin communities spanning the state - from Eagle River to Racine and Manitowoc to LaCrosse. Those 70 plus clergy are affiliated with the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, the Presbyerian Church USA, the Reform and Resconstructionist movements of Judaism, the Unitarian Universalist Association and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

The Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom Project (SYRF) educates, organizes and empowers youth and young adults between the ages of 16-30 to put faith into action and advocate for pro-choice values and social justice. SYRF is a student organization on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison and is working in coalition with other pro-choice student groups on campus. For more information on how you can get involved now, contact Rev. Sheri Randolph - sherirand@redjellyfish.net
