The full membership of the Society is fifty-five men. Membership responsibilities are as follows:àà à

1. ààààà Regular attendance at the Society's monthly meetings and at the fall and spring business meetings. à

2. ààààà Service on the Society's committees which are program, membership, nominations, social, Syttende Mai, history and by-laws.

3. ààààà Presentation of papers

Members are notified by the Program Committee well in advance of their projected paper presentation date. A new member's first presentation will be about five years after joining.

When selecting a topic for the paper, members should consult with the Program Committee chairman to determine the appropriateness of the topic. The papers are catalogued and retained in the Ygdrasil archives at the Wisconsin State Historical Society.à

4. ààààà Hosting

àà àà Members are required to serve periodically as host for a monthly meeting of the Society. A new member's first hosting date will be two to three years after admission to membership. Members are given notice of their next hosting date two years in advance. It is the host's responsibility to select a location for the meeting, coordinate the location with the speaker and program chairman, and arrange for a light lunch to be served at the conclusion of the meeting. The selected location should have convenient parking available. Appropriate audio-visual equipment must be provided if necessary. The physical arrangements should provide comfortable seating and sufficient space for social interactions at the meeting. The cost of the lunch and meeting room rental is borne by the host.
