Dear Friends at Zwingli United Church of Christ,
On behalf of the Verona Food Pantry I want to express our

not serve others without your service to us. As demand at the Pantry has increased over the past
year, your support and that of the entire community has enabled us to keep our shelves stocked. You

What's Next

In addition to Sunday School curriculum planning, Pastor Sara is busy crafting the creative
(oh, to be in Confirmation class again!!) curriculum for our Confirmation class. Believe me,
it will be something they will never forget!
As usual, if you have any ideas you'd like to share with us, please contact anybody on the

Sunday School Update

Symbols … Symbols … Symbols
We are gearing up for another exciting – one of a kind – Sunday School year, thanks to the
creativity of Pastor Sara and her curriculum ideas! Tied in with our favorite Bible stories
will be classes on the symbols in our church. Have you ever taken the time to look at all
the symbols in our church building – the altar – the stained glass windows – the cross on
top of the altar – the paraments (hanging from the pulpit and lectern) – the beautiful white
cloth that drapes the altar on communion Sundays – the special linen cloths that are
placed on top of the communion ware -- the banners that have been carefully designed
and crafted for us for special Sundays? Be prepared … we will ALL be learning from our
Sunday School children to keep our eyes open to the rich heritage of our faith!

Food Resource Bank News!
The corn is up and growing. The project is praying over 4 acres of corn on a plot of
land near Washington Reformation UCC near Monticello. On July 19th, in honor of
our partnership there will be a Pulpit Swap with First Congregational UCC in
Madison.
In the mean time we continue to enjoy the goodies from the Farmers Market. If you
have something to contribute that would be great. All the funds go to educate
farmers in Cambodia about Sustainable Agriculture.
Daily Bread Update

Come join us – 8:30 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month in the Upper Room.
Everyone is welcome … any time! We are still at it – studying "3:16" of every chapter in
the Bible and enjoying the perspectives of the author and of each other.

your church family for an old fashioned Sunday picnic!
Ice Cream Social

Help support our church by attending the Annual Ice Cream Social on
Wednesday, August 5th. The Social will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
