Calendar> Learning center opening: A grand opening ceremony for the Edgewood College Corporate Learning Center is planned for 4 to 6 p.m. April 25 at 1255 Deming Way.> Chamber luncheon:Todd Berry of the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance will be the featured speaker at the April 19 Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce member luncheon. Berry will discuss the state budget. The luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the community room of the Sun Prairie Public Library, 1350 Linnerud Drive. Cost: $8.50 per person.
> Internet business series: UWMadison's Small Business Development Center is offering a five-day series on Internet business in April and May. Creating a Web business plan, building an effective presence on the Internet, promoting your Web site, ecommerce and the legal issues of doing business on the Internet will be covered during the series. Sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 6, 13, 20, 27 and May 4 at Grainger Hall, 975 University Ave. Cost: $89 per session or $399 for the series. Call 262-3909 to register. > Business improvement workshop: An interactive workshop on organizational improvement will be held at Madison Area Technical College in April. The "Baldridge Preparation Workshop: The Path to Organizational Excellence," offered in collaboration with Wisconsin Forward Award, will help companies conduct a selfassessment, use effective planning techniques and improve business results. The session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7 at MATC's Downtown Education Center, 211 N. Carroll St. Cost: $195 for first two participants from an organization, $175 per person for additional participants. Call 243-4479 to register. > Personal management series: A six-session class on personal money management will be offered in April and May by the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corp. The class will focus on creating a personal budget, developing a savings plan that works and dealing with debt. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16, 23, 30 and May 7, 14 and 21 at Hawthorne Public Library, 2707 E. Washington Ave. No charge. > Entrepreneur of the Year awards: Nominations are being accepted for the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The awards honor entrepreneurs whose ingenuity, hard work and innovation have created successful and growing businesses. The deadline for nominations is April 8.
