Don't look elsewhere for meeting venue; try 'Bringing It Home'Deb ArcherBeing able to live and work in this extraordinary community is a privilege we enjoy every day. Did you realize that by inviting others to experience what you enjoy every day, you can have a positive impact on our economy? By participating in the "Bringing It Home" campaign, sponsored by the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), you can join other residents who have been able to showcase their hometown by attracting their professional, social, hobby or special-interest convention, conference or meeting to Madison and Dane County.
When meetings are held in Madison, event organizers and attendees stimulate our economy. They use our meeting facilities, buy services from area businesses and spend money at hotels, restaurants, retailers and other businesses. The result? Support for local jobs and generation of tax revenues for local and state government. The GMCVB is the area's sole entity dedicated to promoting, attracting and confirming meetings and events for Madison and Dane County. One of our most important tools for success is people like you people eager to "bring their meeting home." If the "Bringing It Home" concept intrigues you, consider the reasons others have cited for inviting an event to greater Madison: Community pride: Are you proud of this great place and want to show it off to others? Desire for professional exposure and visibility: Are you or is your business accomplishing something extraordinary and innovative? Is now the time to expand visibility or garner national or international recognition for your efforts or discoveries? Professional development: Are you interested in professional development that a national meeting would bring for yourself and your employees? Unique needs: Are you interested in creating a conference that explicitly suits your employees' needs as well as the needs of your company or industry and that doesn't exist elsewhere or nearby? Enhancing the local economy: Are you interested in stimulating our economy instead of someone else's? The GMCVB can help with the responsibility of hosting an event. We can be the backbone of the effort through the bid process, working through venue and accommodations selection, providing help with housing, promoting the event, assisting with on-site management and aligning your event's needs with local vendors. We hope you are eager to get involved and join many others, like those below, who have stepped up for Madison and Dane County by "Bringing It Home."
