Closer Look: Globe University, 1345 Deming Way, Middleton

Construction began in November on Globe University, a $5.6 million education facility west of Highway 14 and north of University Avenue that will complement other high-end commercial spaces in the area.
The 31,200-square-foot project sits on a 3.7-acre site and is a “Green Sustainable Designed” building located within ¼ mile of a bus line.
“Green” features of the project include prevention of site pollution and runoff during construction, conservation of the natural environment, increased on-site infiltration, and installation of water efficient plumbing fixtures to reduce water usage by at least 40 percent, high-energy efficient RTU (remote terminal unit) heating systems and a CO-2 detection system for greater air flow and controlled fresh air environment.
Minnesota-based Globe University officials estimate an enrollment of 500 students in the first year and 900-1000 students by year three. Both bachelor degrees and associate degrees will be offered.
