Huegel Elementary
I would like to nominate Lisa Henderson's and Dana Behn's classroom of Huegel Elementary School to be the classroom of the month.
This room is filled with friends! I work at the school as the School Psychologist. Unfortunately this month, Mrs. Henderson's classroom lost a classmate, Cameron Stanek, who died at his home. Cameron was a wonderful child who, despite many physical limitations that had him in a wheelchair, using a tracheotomy to help breath, and being fed by a tube, made friends with everyone in the classroom.
It was difficult when he died recently, especially for his teachers. Despite their sadness, they came to school to be with each other and their class to heal as a group. This classroom is an inspiration to the human spirit. I am confident that Cameron is smiling down upon them, running freely, breathing on his own, and smiling along with them! His mother, Crissy, agrees and appreciates all that the school has done as well.
