Radio Stations Webmaster for Entercom in Madison

You need at least two years of related experience and a background in template web design, digital audio and video editing, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Macromedia Flash/Fireworks, DHTML/XHTML and JavaScript. Promotions/Marketing/Public Relations

105.5 Triple M’s Promotion Department offers a non-salaried internship program that is designed to give hands-on experience at a major commercial radio station. Areas covered include promotions, marketing, public relations, and special event management with Triple M and our sister stations; WBZU-FM, and WOLX-FM.

Any interested and energetic person, ages 18 and older, may apply. Academic credit can be given to students who qualify through their college/university. Interns are expected to work 20-30 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Specific duties include, but are not restricted to, the following:

  • Promotional Events: The promotion intern will be asked to attend various events, concerts, festivals, etc. -- some of which he/she will be paid for. Duties vary, but can include the selling of t-shirts, making signs, selling raffle tickets, etc.
     
  • Newspaper Listings: Providing the dailies with regular information as well as changes about programming for inclusion in the "Radio Highlights" section; also monitoring all papers for the accuracy of the listings and getting them corrected when necessary.
     
  • Printing of Promotional Materials: Maintaining sufficient quantities of promotional materials -- includes delivering originals as well as picking up proofs for approval and finished materials as necessary.
     
  • Listener Requests: Opening, fulfilling and filing requests for t-shirts, window stickers, programming information, photos of air staff, etc. Also includes composing letters to accompany such items.
     
  • Basic Accounting: Keeping a detailed account in the computer of all items and costs associated with promotions.
     
  • Contest Entries: Sorting and processing all mail and other materials used during any type of mail-in promotion. This includes responding to winners as well as non-winners.
     
  • Monitoring: These tasks involve monitoring both consumer and trade publications for any press mentions, clipping them as necessary and adding them to the chronological files.
     
  • General Filing: This consists of keeping the files well maintained and updated to allow easy access as well as easy understanding of the materials processed by the promotion department.
     
  • Inventory Control: Counting, folding and packing station merchandise that is kept in our warehouse. This involves some physical labor when preparing for an event.
