Studio M History

Studio M has been around since 1994, when a little known singer/songwriter named Dave Matthews stopped by with his band to perform.

We’ve also grown Studio M from a few microphones in the corner of the on-air studio to a full recording studio with space for 12 listeners to come and view the performance and participate in the interview.

Studio M, shown below and at right, is a listening room intended to let musicians tell their stories and sing their songs in front of the most passionate Triple M listeners.

We work with several recording studios around Madison, including Sticha Brothers Sound & Lighting of Madison, Smart Studios, and DNA Studios. So, we can guarantee a great sounding performance that we’re proud to air.
