Inman, Ross B.
MADISON
Ross B. Inman, age 77, died on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at HospiceCare, Madison. Ross was born on Nov. 4, 1931, in Adelaide, South Australia. He attended Scotch College and graduated from the University of Adelaide earning bachelor of science (honors) and Ph.D. degrees. Ross' post-doctoral research was completed at the laboratory of Arthur Kornberg, Stanford, Calif. Ross was professor of biochemistry and molecular virology at UW-Madison from 1967 until his retirement in 2008. Ross conducted his research at Bock Labs and made major contributions in the field of DNA research. Ross' favorite pastimes included listening to Bach, playing the harpsichord and spending time with his granddaughter. Ross is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Andrew, David (Elizabeth) and Colleen; granddaughter, Jane; and sister, Norma (Evan) Holt. In accordance with his wishes there will be a private family gathering. In remembrance of Ross donations can be made to HospiceCare in Madison.
