wooden bird

~

This is a little wooden bird that's approximately an inch long. Even though they are dwarfed by our big, fake tree, these birds are my favorite of the wooden collection we have hanging. There are also snowmen, angels, drummers, carolers, drums, santas, horses, and boxes of presents, all crudely assembled and painted. We bought them five years ago and since then I've been tempted to get rid of them as I've found pieces scattered throughout the house or at the bottom of the ornament storage box. It's the saucy little birds which look like they are squawking and swooping that I love best. They remind me of why I picked them up in the first place. Sometimes I need a reminder that it's okay to be imperfect.
