Amethyst loves photographing people, places, things. For her, capturing a moment- elevating the normal or saving the extraordinary -is what photography is all about. Equipment: Nikon D50, Minolta 300si Maxxum, Lensbaby 2.0 for the Minolta, Holga, Polaroids/iZone, ActionSampler, Octomat, ColorSplash, Pop-9, SuperSampler and other assorted garage-find cameras. Please note, there may be other non-photographic work sprinkled amongst the images. Of the photographs, some may be worked on in a photo editing program. There is debate among photographers that any editing outside of a darkroom is unacceptable. She is not of this camp.

Picture taken inside our car. My first thought upon seeing the picture was, "The dashboard needs to be wiped down." Then, "I'd better crop the picture because I don't want people to realize our clock is seven minutes fast." Finally, "I'm glad the mpg is blocked by our little alien friend. There will surely be some people who will pick a fight over mpg, especially what with the price of gas."
By the way, has anyone else noticed how "...especially what with the price of gas" is used in every sentence nowadays?; "Little Suzie caught a caterpillar and it transformed into a butterfly, which was unexpected what with the price of gas."
