Mickey's new brunch

Of all the bars in Madison, there is one I love the most. And it's not just because they let me and my friends spin records there the first Saturday of every month! No, Mickey's, aka The Only Tavern That Matters, and I go way back. It's in the 'hood, they have a great patio area, the bartenders are excellent (I've known one since junior high school--Hi, Liz!) and some of my friends can usually be found there on a Friday night, shooting pool and drinking cold beer.
Having recently heard about a rockin' new brunch menu at Mickey's, I was thrilled to come across a review by an old chum with a new blog, madisonbrunch.com.
Here's an excerpt to whet your whistle:
--------------------------
Yes folks, it's true, Madison's super-tavern now serves brunch.
My friend Amy shared the news with me about the new brunch service
after checking it out last weekend. So we gathered a group
of bloody mary
lovers and checked it out on Sunday afternoon. I started with the
bloody mary and it was pretty tasty, strong and served with a
delicious salad bar of garnishes. My husband had a Jack and Coke
(it was noon, after all) and let's just say that owner/bartender
Jane Capito (also of Lazy Jane's) does not skimp on the hard stuff.
Our entire group was in a more than festive mood after our
hour-plus visit.
