I hate Wisconsin Nazis

The Capitol Saturday saw an excellent convergence of citizens and government and all in all everyone took care of their business. The idea of Nazis set plenty of Madisonians off and about a thousand showed up to extend a laurel and hearty handshake to the National Socialists. So we have:

3 dozen Nazis

1,000 tolerant progressives

300 Police including 100 or so in full battle rattle

Oh and let's not forget the 50 or so anarchists who try to stop the Nazi bus from leaving and clash with the mounted police. Good vids of them at the bottom

The Nazis did their bit and I heard no obscenities or anything more heinous than some Zionist Occupation Government. Just to set the stage here is a look at what all the fuss was about from the Press Box

Nazis up close from the Press Box

Not much there eh? A couple of dozen clowns and they managed to get this kind of a rersponse. I believe the police did a great job and failed to pepper spray anyone, despite my continued calls for it. Here is a look at the overwhelming police presence, Spud estimated 300 and that was dead on. That's a lot of overtime and travel and everything for what people? I cried as I watched my tax dollars hemorrhaging all over the Capitol lawn.

Overkill in the Mad City

Spud notices the police have an armored vehicle and the hippies rush the barricades (kinda)

Armored cars migrating progressives

Spud asks Kev why he's mad at the protestors

Kev predicts hippie riot

The Nazis take the stage to Ride of the Valkyries from Wagner, fitting I guess and Kev and I had been speculating as to who they would hate on for openers. I picked correctly and it was the Jooos in the form of some jack-booted stomping of the Israeli flag

Wagner & the Joos to open

Some more looks at the speechifying, and it should be noted tyhat the Nazis had a crap PA system and consequently it was very difficult to hear who they were hatin' on over the enraged progressives. Profanity alert from here out as the tolerant progressives spent a lot of time carpet F-bombing the Nazis and everyone else too. It was not their finest moment.

Nazis in the Rain

And what protest would be complete without conspiracy guy, who I think believes the CIA is knocking off celebrities because they know too much, well he'll tell you:

CIA got Kennedy, Marilyn, Princess Di etc.

I think a highlight for everybody was the Pink Bunnies. From out of nowhere they came bringing mindless frivolity and distraction to the affair

Pink Bunnies, why not?

Did I mention there were anarchists, oh yeah about 50 or so, which pissed Kev off because it was way too much organization going on and he questioned their ideological purity. Regardless they were my favorite part, Spud's too. Although I may have sealed my fate when I explained anarchists believe there should be no government and everyone should just be in charge of themselves. Plus he grooved on the black costumes, masks and goggles. They marched around during the show and even feinted like they were gonna rush the barricades, but the real fun came after the show when the tried to stop the Nazi busses from leaving. Here they wish them a fond and very profane farewell.

Anarchists bid bon voyage to the Nazis

Their next gambit was an attempt to block the exit, which led the cops to deploy the horses. I was giddily hopeful that we would finally get some pepper spray from the crew-served mace guns, Kev tells me to shut up as we are right in the line of fire

The mother of all pepper sprays

No luck but it does start to get lively here and a couple of unmasked anarchists start agitating real hard, itching for some action. They do their best but 120 lb anarchists are no match for 1000 lb horses.

Anarchists hold the line

And in the end one of our friends manages to push a cop and get himself arrested. He does an excellent perp walk proclaiming that he didn't do anything. Yeah right, but his friends take up his plight chanting Free Miles. I love the kid who has a hammer and sickle tattoo and right next to it a no Nazis button. A more clueless wanker I cannot imagine.

Miles gets scarfed up

Just in case you wondered what Miles really thought

Our boy Miles

I have to say it was an excellent example of what makes our country great, although next time can we just ignore them and save a hundred grand or so.

Funny thing is NBC 15 seemed to go to a different protest and titled their piece and lame video Nazi rally ends peacefully. Kinda tough to reconcile with horses dispersing a crowd and anarchists beating on the door of the Capitol, but hey that's why citizen journalism rules.

Military matters

An insider's look at politics and national security from Madison's favorite hawk.

I spent 14 years in the military and I was a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, which means now I am an ex- Green Beret. I still have many friends in the Special Ops and Intel worlds and will occasionally pass along interesting info from them. Uncle J is the persona I use to vent my frustrations regarding the fools and infidels running rampant on this planet. Military Matters will focus on issues of National Security, International Relations and all things related to the military.
