Tea in the Yahara
A quick note for anyone planning on checking out The Swell Season at Overture Hall on the 16th of June (a show that, unless I'm mistaken, is already sold out): You should have seen 'em in Milwaukee.
A little bird just dropped this off for me:
Went to The Swell Season concert last night at the Riverside. Pretty good, but the highlight was that after getting an email that the Whitefish Bay 8th grade choir was going to perform the song "Falling Slowly" at their Spring Choir Concert, the band invited them to perform it on stage with them at the show. It was pretty cool -- but then, for some reason [Glen Hansard, one half of The Swell Season -- the other being Marketa Irgova, of course] had them sing the the Pixies "Gigantic" with him -- which...was...well, weird.
Yeah, weird. And so, so great. Definitely sorry I missed that one -- if anyone out there happens to have audio/video of the event, please send it along.
