Controversial Resident Evil 5

I've been wanting to share my thoughts on the controversial Resident Evil 5. You see, the reason I haven't is I'm white and as such, realize I have very little personal experience in being black. Do you see my dilemma?

You don't?

Let me explain: Resident Evil 5, the upcoming newest installment to the survival horror Resident Evil series featuring zombies, spawned thanks to the far-reaching and evil Umbrella Corporation, is taking place in Africa. According to early release screen shots and snippets of action, the verily white lead character (you) shoot at and kill the black natives-assumed-zombies. Therein lies the hubbub. White people shooting black zombies.

Until I read this bloggers' post (and his two comments), I felt ill-equipped to share my thoughts; namely, if the story says there's a outbreak of zombie-ness in an African village, doesn't that mean that Africans will on the receiving end of S.T.A.R.S.-delivered TLC via bullets? It's what happened in RE 1 through 4 and allow me to inform you that #4 took place in Europe, (Spain, I believe) and Mr. Macho-lead-character shot at the Spanish and there wasn't a peep over the game's hidden racism training.

As a side note: I wonder what Germans think about when playing Wolfenstein?
