Game On
It was bound to happen eventually, but you may question why it took so long. Still, I've done it. Mark your calendars, ladies and germs - I finished my very first PS3 game.
I know, I know - I've owned my PS3 for how long now? And how many months has it been since I purchased Heavenly Sword? For that matter, how many months ago did I start the game? And isn't it like six hours long?
Well
get over it with your petty critiques, dear Readers!
Yes, I have owned my PS3 and Heavenly Sword for awhile
now. Yes, I did manage to, shall we say, get a lot of
gametime out of a very short game. I've been playing a
number of other PS1 and PS2 games on that system, thank you very
much, and frankly I liked having a game I could jump back into with
relative ease.
I recall a conversation I had with Erik about our shared approach to gaming. We both have a tendency to at best juggle multiple games simultaneously, setting down one incomplete game temporarily to try another. It might grow overwhelming to reflect upon a pile of unfinished games, but the benefit is that every now and then we can go on streaks where we finish several games in rapid succession. (Credit goes to Erik for that perspective - I like it!)
I suppose my point is this - poke fun at me all you wish, but I'm proud to have finished this game and unashamed that it took me as long as it did. And now you have learned a trick from me of how to savor a game you know from all the reviews to be much too short. Take one hour each month to play said title and a six hour game can last half a year. I knew there was a good reason for my approach. I simply wanted my first time to last.
