UW senior defensive end Matt Shaughnessy injured his right leg during practice Thursday night and isn't expected to play in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage at Camp Randall Stadium.
Badgers coach Bret Bielema is expected to address Shaughnessy's injury following Saturday's game, which likely will be little more than a glorified practice due to the lack of healthy bodies, especially on the defensive line.
The Badgers' unofficial injury count is at 26, when you include the number of players who were forced to leave practice or miss practice entirely and those who never practiced at all this spring due to offseason surgery.
Ten players on that list are defensive linemen, including the four players -- Shaughnessy, Mike Newkirk, Jason Chapman and Kirk DeCremer -- who were expected to start in 2008.
