Not making any predictions here, just imagining how sweet it would be if the Badgers end up in San Antonio in December against the Aggies.
Two reasons come to mind, both of which are very selfish:
1) It's San Antonio, which in my opinion is the best bowl destination in the Big Ten rotation.
2) Texas A&M is coached by former Packers coach/GM Mike Sherman, which would be a great story line for the game.
What got me thinking about this was looking through Texas A&M's spring media guide, which arrived in the mail Monday.
A few things jumped out while reading through:
Brett Favre gave a long testimonial in the ``What they're saying'' about Mike Sherman section. ``Meticulous is an understatement when you talk about Mike,'' Favre said.
Favre also said he was ``a little shocked when the different circumstances came up and the club went in a different direction'' and fired Sherman after six seasons as Green Bay's coach.
Favre said Sherman is ``genuine,'' which Favre figures should help in recruiting.
Other notable items in the media guide: Former Packers assistant Nolan Cromwell is A&M's offensive coordinator after spending the last nine seasons in Seattle with Mike Holmgren as the Seahawks' wide receivers coach. And Tom Rossley, the Packers' offensive coordinator under Sherman, is the Aggies senior assistant/quarterbacks coach.
One final item that I found interesting: Like UW, A&M held its spring game this past weekend. Part of the festivities included a letterman's reunion.
What a great idea. Invite former Badgers back for the weekend of the spring game, introduce them throughout the game and maybe even have an autograph session afterward. If Bret Bielema wants to increase attendance, this might be one way to do it.
