Here's what you need to know about Robert Morris, Wisconsin's opponent in the home-opening series, early in the week:
Robert Morris 3, No. 9 Boston University 2.
That result, earned last Friday at the Nye Frontier Classic in Anchorage, put the Colonials in the college hockey spotlight, at least for one weekend. They rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period to stun the Terriers, then won the tournament championship the next night by beating Wayne State to finish 2-0.
One of the interesting notes about Robert Morris -- named after the Revolutionary War financier, based in the Pittsburgh suburb of Moon Township, Pa., and with an enrollment of 5,100 -- is its age.
The Colonials will come to the Kohl Center this weekend with an average age of 22.69 -- more than two years higher than the Badgers. That caught the eye of UW coach Mike Eaves.
"It's an interesting team," Eaves said. "They have 14 seniors and they'll be a crusty, old bunch of college students who are probably as old as Ross Carlson was when he graduated."
That's 25, by the way.
"It'll be a challenge," Eaves continued. "They'll be strong, they'll be physical and they'll want to make another statement this weekend. So I think it's a benefit the fact that they beat BU because that's going to get our attention for sure. If anybody was thinking who the heck Robert Morris is, they put themselves on the map last weekend."
Robert Morris finished third in College Hockey America last season at 9-10-1 (14-19-2 overall). The Colonials stunned then-No. 2 Notre Dame 4-2 last season in South Bend, Ind., again rallying from a 2-0 deficit.
They're picked for second in the CHA this season.
