Denver just likes to toy with you sometimes. It's a great day here now, but I've heard people talking about 7 inches of snow sometime today into tonight. We're not here for the weather, but it's nice when Mother Nature cooperates.

There are a few connections to Wisconsin with the Frozen Four that starts Thursday at the Pepsi Center:

** North Dakota freshman defenseman Derrick LaPoint is from Eau Claire and was the 2006 state prep player of the year.

** Notre Dame junior defenseman Luke Lucyk is from Fox Point. He has played only sparingly for the Irish this season.

** Denver director of media relations Erich Bacher, who's in charge of a lot of the media room here, is from Stevens Point.
