DODGEVILLE -- While the heat of July doesn't bring visions of sugar plums to the mind of adults; for children, Santa is never far from their thoughts. Thankfully, July marks the start of the Lands' End Annual Holiday Art Contest; the theme for 2008 is "Holiday Fun."

Children can enter artwork of their favorite holiday activities, be it leaving cookies for Santa, singing Christmas carols or decorating the tree. Winning artists will receive a Lands' End gift card, and their works of art may be featured in the Lands' End catalog or Web site.

"The joy and excitement of the holidays is palpable in children's artwork," said Lisa Fitzgerald, executive vice president, merchandising, design and creative. "It reminds us of the true meaning of the Christmas season. We look forward to sharing the art with our customers every year."

Budding Picassos are encouraged to submit their artwork for a chance to be published and to win a Lands' End gift card. There are three age categories: 1-6, 7-9 and 10-12. In each age category first prize winners receive a $500 gift card, second prize winners receive a $250 gift card, and third prize winners receive a $100 gift card.

Lands' End invites children to send their best holiday drawing by Aug. 14 on a vertical piece of 8 1/2" by 11" paper along with a completed entry form. More information can be found at http://www.landsend.com/rules.
