Wireless provider Cricket opened the door to its first Madison retail store Tuesday in the Villager shopping center on South Park Street.
Company and city officials will have an official grand opening "cut the cord" ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The company, a unit of San Diego-based Leap Wireless International, handed out 1,000 free bus tickets at the south transfer station on Election Day and will make a donation to DreamBikes at the grand opening ceremonies.
Cricket also will give away 100 free frozen turkeys on Friday at the store.
The wireless company is opening its first five stores in Wisconsin on Tuesday, including four in Milwaukee and one in Madison.
