Spring showers are much more pleasant with a pretty umbrella to keep the rain away. Sure, basic black is more practical, but cheerful polka dots and animal prints make the weather more bearable.

Little Luxuries on State Street stocks compact umbrellas in a variety of vibrant colors for $29 apiece; hip Marimekko designs run $40 to $50. A few blocks down the street, Pop Deluxe sells funky paisleys, plaids and stripes for $24.99.
