Another popular longtime Madison band will be calling it quits with a final show this weekend.

The Moon Gypsies, a roots rock quartet that combines award-winning songwriting and vocals with unique multi-instrumentation, will play at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night at the Harmony Bar, 2220 Atwood Ave. The Stellanovas and the Prairie Moon Dogs also are on the bill.

Guitarist-vocalist Robert J. won the Billboard Songwriting Contest in 1999 for "A Million Miles Away," and was named Best Male Vocalist at the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards in 1993. They also have won several Madison Area Music Awards, including Best Female Vocalist (Mary Gaines) and Best Male Vocalist (Chris Wagoner) last year.
