Mallards: Legendary 'Idol' contestant William Hung to visit Duck Pond

William Hung spurred off-key karaoke artists to get out of their cars and shower stalls and give it a shot in public. After all, they couldn't sound much worse.

The former American Idol contestant continues to milk his 15 minutes of fame, and this summer will make a special appearance at a Madison Mallards game on July 26 at the appropriately named "William Hung American Idol Karaoke Night."

In 2003, Hung performed the Ricky Martin song "She bangs, she bangs" and, despite his lack of singing background, won over the tough judging panel thanks to his positive attitude and some emphatic hand-gesturing. Hung even earned a $25,000 record deal as a result of that appearance.

The Mallards report that Hung will be available for autographs & pictures throughout the evening.

Also, late last week, the Mallards announced that Gary Coleman -- who as a child starred in the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes -- will make an appearance at Warner Park on Aug. 1 as part of 1980s night.

Coleman's character Arnold delivered the catch phrase "What'chu talkin' bout, Willis?" often in conversations with his older brother on the show, played by Todd Bridges.
