A 17-year-old inmate on house arrest who was being monitored with a GPS ankle bracelet was declared AWOL on Saturday, the Dane County Sheriff's Office reported.
Darriell L. Banks, who had been living with his family on Petterle Place on Madison's north side, was serving 60 days for bail jumping. Authorities said Banks left his home at 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning following an argument with family members, who later contacted police. He has not called in to the Custody Alternative Monitoring Program since he left his home.
Residents who live on the south side and in Fitchburg should be aware of Banks' status because the teen often hangs out in these areas, police said.
He is described as a black male, 5-foot-10, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
