Community Coordinated Child Care, burned out of its Odana Court home last week by a fire which caused an estimated $3 million in damage, has found new temporary quarters thanks to a longtime supporter.
In a joint release Tuesday afternoon, 4-C and the CUNA Mutual Group announced that CUNA has provided space and supplies for the child care group.
CUNA, which has been a longtime supporter of 4-C, has converted a meeting room and provided work stations, computers, printers, a fax machine and technology support to 4-C until it can find permanent office space.
"We are extremely appreciative of the temporary space that CUNA Mutual has provided to our agency such short notice," said 4-C executive director Jody Bartnick.
"In a matter of hours, we were set up with temporary computers, Internet, and phone lines, all of which have helped to prevent service interruptions to our clients," Bartnick said.
4-C is a nonprofit child care resource agency which provides support services to families and child care providers.
The organization, in existence since 1971,
was located in the building at 5 Odana Court which was burned down
in an early morning fire Aug. 14, destroying the group's records as
well as its property.
Since then a 4-C Support Fund has been created at First Business Bank, 401 Charmany Drive, Madison, WI 53719. In addition, those wishing to contribute to the group can find a list of items the agency needs at www.4-C.org.
CUNA Mutual Foundation executive director Steve Goldberg said his organization was happy to aid the 4-C group. "They have such a positive impact on child care, since they provide training and support for most of the day care facilities in southern Wisconsin."
