As of Friday morning, the Rock River remains far above flood stage in many parts of southern Wisconsin. The river has still not crested in some areas.
The National Weather Service reports that the river is at 15.5 feet in Jefferson, 5.5 feet above flood stage.
In Fort Atkinson, the river has been at 10.8 feet for the past 24 hours, its highest level since storms began.
Near the Newville/Lake Koshkonong area the water level is currently just over 15 feet, its highest point to date. The flood stage for the area is 10 feet.
South of Edgerton at the Indianford Dam, the river was at 18.26 feet at last observation and rising. Flood stage is 15 feet.
South of Janesville near Afton, the river has risen to its highest point, 13.46 feet, almost 4.5 feet above flood stage.
