Update: Watertown teen struck by lightning dies
A 16-year-old boy from the town of Watertown boy died late Monday night after being struck by lightning at his home.
Benjamin Richter was pronounced dead at 11:47 p.m., according to a statement issued by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Richter was taken to Watertown Hospital by Johnson Creek EMS with help from the Watertown Fire Department paramedics.
