Man dies in Blooming Grove house fire
A Blooming Grove man who used a wheelchair died in a house fire Saturday evening.
Allen R. Meske, 53, was found shortly after 7 p.m.
The two-story home, located at 3295 Lee South Court, collapsed upon itself during the fire and was completely destroyed.
Fire crews from Blooming Grove, McFarland, Deerfield, the Town of Madison, Monona and Cottage Grove responded to the blaze at around 5 p.m. A neighbor had called 911 after observing flames and smoke coming from the home.
The residence was completely engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. Firefighters were able to enter the home around 6:30 p.m., and they found a deceased male, according to Lt. Brian Hayes of the Dane County Sheriff's Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
