Man injured in single-car accident
An Orfordville man was injured in a wreck at Wisconsin 92 and Fargo Road in the town of Springdale southeast of Mount Horeb early Wednesday.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office said it received a call of an erratic driver who had crashed at the intersection at about 7:15 a.m.
Deputies who arrived at the scene found that Thomas E. Phillips, 79, of Orfordville, was headed northwest on Wisconsin 92 when he lost control of his car and hit an embankment on the opposite side of the road.
Phillips had to be extricated from his car by the Mount Horeb Fire Department and was taken by Fitch-Rona EMS to a local hospital.
Sheriff's deputies said medical issues may have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
