Homeowners with gypsy moth egg masses, the city forester is looking for you.
The annual gypsy moth egg mass survey is starting in Madison, so the forestry department can figure out where the moths have congregated so those areas can be sprayed next spring.
Residents can find gypsy moth egg masses on trees, houses, fences, boat trailers, just about any solid surface.
If found, egg masses shouldn't be disturbed. Call the forestry department at 266-4816 or toll-free at 1-800-642-6684 so the mass can be counted and recorded.
