Meeting to address upcoming Beltline construction concerns

The Capital Times  —  10/15/2008 7:41 pm

A public information meeting will be held next Wednesday to address safety improvements to the Beltline between Whitney Way and Verona Road.

The project seeks to prevent crossover crashes by installing concrete barriers in the median. Construction is expected to begin next summer and fall, with single-lane closures at night.

The open-house style meeting, hosted by the state Department of Transportation, will take place in the City of Madison Operations Building, 1600 Emil St., on Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. A formal project presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees can get questions answered by project team members and review exhibit boards and handout materials.

The site is wheelchair accessible. Hearing impaired persons should contact the WisDOT TDD at 246-5385 for special interpreter accommodations.

For more information, call project manager Jan Bennett at 242-8038.
